Polaroid’s DPJ-08580B is only one of a hundred gadgets that go with your iPod, but it manages to stand out admirably. The device is basically a portable DVD player with an embedded iPod dock, which will allow you to view videos stored on your iPod in a larger format. Not huge mind you, but larger. The screen is 8.5 inches.

Cisco makes a big fast switch

Cisco today unveiled the Nexus 7000 series networking switch boasting remarkable speeds of 15 terabits per second through a “unified fabric” architecture giving very high speed connections through very long distances. Cisco has invested around three years and $250 million into this technology which Doug Gourlay of Cisco describes as the most important product launch since the dawn of switches themselves.

From the looks of things, the new Nec Flask Cell Phone looks pretty promising. This new cell phone powered by a liquid fuel cell disappears as power is drained away. If you drop it, I wonder if the spill will stain the carpet. The phone features a touchscreen display, sleek design with plastic and stainless steel written all over it. Things are looking pretty liquid.

Woolworths drops HD DVD

It seems to be just a matter of time now to we see the end of HD DVD, with the news breaking today that Woolworths in the UK has dropped HD-DVD in favour of the Sony Blu-ray format. This news makes me glad I brought a Sony PS3, what makes this even more significant is the fact that Woolworths is “the UK’s biggest retailer of next-gen DVD discs” and it’s going to exclusively back Blu-ray from March 2008.
