Asus ZX1 Lamborghini Branded Phone

Thursday, February 28th, 2008 | Mobile Phones with No Comments »

Asus is launching their ZX1 touch screen phone which will be branded by Lamborghini. It will run the Windows Mobile 6 Pro (probably 6.1) when it arrives and feature a full touch screen which will be a completely flat display integrated in to the housing just like an iPhone. On the connectivity side we will see 3G data support, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and it will be powered by a 520MHz Qualcomm processor. With the ZX1 being branded by Lamborghini this means you will see the regular Lambborghini colours for the casing of the phone which I assume will be yellow and black. However, I do hope that an equivalent of the ZX1 will hit the market with out the Lamborghini brand as it seems that the
famous badge is only there to increase the price for no real reason.

Xyber Technologies is one company that aims to cater for hardcore gamers as well as those who invest in high-end PCs due to media work by releasing a silent cooling solution for computers. To date, conventional wisdom places the fan as the cooling mechanism of choice, but as we all know too well, fan-based systems tend to get corrupted as time goes by no thanks to their eternal enemy - dust. As for liquid cooling systems, there is always the danger of evaporation and the nightmare of many a PC enthusiasts - seeping might occur without you noticing it. Xyber Technologies will bypass both routes, offering an alternative that they claim is much quieter, more efficient, and more stable.

USB Smart Privacy Mouse

The Internet is meant to boost productivity at work, but many people tend to (ab)use it for their personal benefit, and often productivity suffers as office drones go to less than appropriate sites. Getting caught at work while surfing for melons of the fleshly variety can be embarrassing, which is why the USB Smart Privacy Mouse comes with a secret button that can be programmed to switch to a work-friendly window in a snap. $19.99 as a form of insurance against losing your job? Sounds pretty reasonable, but if you are wasting your time away at the office with less than savory sites, chances are you will be overlooked during promotion anyway as your performance won’t be up to par.

Biometric door lock

I hate messing with the lock on my door, mostly because I have only a deadbolt. This of course means that every time I walk out my door I must turn around and lock the door with my key. Wintertime is the worst, as I must fumble for my keys every time I go in or out of my house. There are days that I wish I could just use something simple like a biometric lock like this one. This door lock works like most devices with a biometric scanner. You’ll program all of the fingerprints (up to 120) directly from the keypad, eliminating the need for a PC. The handle can be positioned on either the left or right to accommodate most doors and will lock automatically. The one thing that worries me is that it runs off of four AA batteries. What happens when the batteries die?

UCCTOP XENO

As a podcaster (or netcaster, depending on the terminology you use), we have a great studio setup to record in. But we’re always wanting to go “on location” to record and it’s really become an issue to have a truly mobile recording setup to go out on those location broadcasts. We don’t have a crew to follow us around and carry the equipment - we do it all ourselves. In the past, we’ve used a 4 channel mixer and an old G4 PowerBook. Still, not very mobile. Then I discovered the UCCTOP XENO. It looks to be a combination laptop and mixer with lots of cool controls and features that would be perfect for a mobile broadcasting setup. Here’s the list of details from their website:
