Sony knows that little kids listen to music to, and their often getting stuck with some cheap pair of uncomfortable, poor performing headphones. Sony launches voice recorders with MP3

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008 | Audio/Video Gadgets, Electronic Gadgets with No Comments »

Sony has officially launched a new line of multi-purpose voice recorders that we had heard about last month, of which Sony is bragging up with words like “Hybrid” and “Swiss Army knife of digital recorders”. While we think these descriptions might be a slight stretch, we also can’t deny they that the new UX series of recorders have some impressive features (for a voice recorder). The ICD-UX70 and ICD-UX80 records will pick up voice like many others, but will also record direct into an MP3 format, not unlike many media players launching these days. It allows you to record music in stereo and transfer the MP3s to a PC or Mac to edit up or just listen to later on. Owners can also listen to downloaded MP3s on the player through headphones and view the artist and album info with the built-in ID3 tagging.

Robot Coupe Bread Slicer

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008 | Kitchen Gadgets with No Comments »

While Robot Coupe is actually an entire brand of catering equipment, I don’t think the word ‘robot’ is the best way to describe this automatic bread slicer. Just feed a baguette or similar sized loaf of bread into the vertical feeder and a stainless steel blade will cut anywhere from 180 to 360 slices a minute. You can also vary the thickness of the slices from 8mm up to 80mm for some serious ‘Texas toast’ action.

Easily Convert Your Vinyl To MP3s

I was born in the 80’s, so the first music format known to me was the cassette tape. I never really thought that they were all that cool, aside from recording my favorite songs off the radio (which were all missing at least a few seconds from the beginning as I raced to press record). I’m almost sorry that I didn’t get the experience of vinyl, as people that grew up on records claim that you’ll not find a better sound. Unfortunately, while it may have a great sound, your old 45’s aren’t exactly the easiest to to tote, so it might be worth your time and effort to put that music on a more portable format.

AVerTV Bravo Hybrid PCI

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008 | Audio/Video Gadgets, PC Gadgets with No Comments »

AverMedia Technologies Inc. has just announced that it will be rolling out its brand new AVerTV Bravo Hybrid PCI-E. This PCI Express TV tuner features support for HDTV, analog TV and FM Radio reception, providing you with more than enough entertainment options to keep you happy. Sounds like the perfect entertainment fodder at the office, especially when you’re knee deep in work and need to take a breather. Sounds ironic, I know, but somehow I find that taking five once you’re out of your ‘zone’ will often result in a sudden boost where productivity is concerned. Well, the AVerTV Bravo Hybrid PCI-E hopes to deliver you from the drudgery of everyday work, making it an excellent choice for watching analog cable TV contents under “My TV” of Media Center on XP and Vista. It has also received certification to function with Windows Vista Premium, so those who have upgraded to the latest (but not necessarily greatest) Windows version will be able to use the new TV tuner with the upgraded AVer MediaCenter that enables users to indulge in the Over-the-Cable unencrypted QAM channels.
