Two months ago Archos upgraded their line of multimedia players by presenting the Archos 405, and they have made another update by adding a navigation system to the 605, which can now be considered a 2-in-1 gadget: media player + GPS system.
The SiRF III GPS receiver isn’t incorporated in the player, you need to attach it in order to work, but that is just a small detail. Besides providing 1 year subscription to a free service related to accident notifications, you can opt for a paid (or free) traffic warning system.
The Archos 605 Wi-Fi will cost approximately £200 with the GPS receiver, or if you only want the receiver, it costs $130.
The 605 GPS uses its built-in media features to its advantage by broadcasting directions through its line-out jack and letting owners use the device normally.
