USB Butterfly Webcam

Monday, June 9th, 2008 | Electronic Gadgets, PC Gadgets, USB Gadgets with 1 Comment

If you’re tired of boring gray and black electronics this cute little butterfly will be a refreshing change. That is if you’re female, I doubt many guys would be overly pleased by a brightly colored butterfly webcam. Then again I’m sure there are at least a couple exceptions to that. The webcam easily attaches to the back of your laptop and peers over the top of it to catch a glimpse of you while you type away at whoever you may be broadcasting to.

Wireless Kit VUDU

Friday, June 6th, 2008 | Audio/Video Gadgets, Electronic Gadgets, Home Gadgets with No Comments »

I just love wireless technology - it frees us from the shackles of being limited by messy cables, and most of the time these wires and cables seem to have a life of their own, getting all messed and tangled up when left alone. Of course, wireless technology does have its limitations as well in terms of signal strength the further you are away from the source/base station, but at least it adds a much neater perspective on an overall level, and this is exactly what VUDU aims to achieve with their new VUDU Wireless Kit. This new wireless solution allows consumers to enjoy their VUDU set top box anywhere in their home without the need for pesky Ethernet cables.

When it comes to LCD HDTVs Sony has some of the most popular sets on the market in its Bravia line. While LCD TVs and LCDs on notebooks share some of the same tech, notebook LCDs have been using LED backlighting for better picture quality and thinner profiles for a while now. The LED tech hasn’t been seen much in HDTVs until now.

Sony introduced seven new XBR HDTV models including models using TRILUMINOS LED backlighting and local dimming to provide better black levels and contrast. The TRILUMINOS LED system uses clusters of red, blue and green LEDs to produce improved color. The new models include screen sizes from 19 to 70-inches.

Sanyo’s projectors

Sunday, June 1st, 2008 | Audio/Video Gadgets, Electronic Gadgets with No Comments »

Sanyo has introduced a couple of super-bright projectors to the masses - the PLC-XC55 and PLC-XC50. Both are extremely portable and small enough for mounting on the ceiling or placement on stationary desktops, making it perfect for personal use or even in classrooms. Each of these projectors also boast an extra security feature in the form of the durable Security Bar and a PIN number which is required in order to unlock the projector before it can be used. Sounds like the perfect candidates for the education sector where ease-of-use, portability and security are of the utmost importance. Interestingly enough, the PLC-XC55 and PLC-XC50 are equipped with Sanyo’s Active Maintenance Filter (AMF) that makes filter changing a snap.
