Metal Gear Solid 4 PS3 for North America

Friday, May 16th, 2008 | Gaming Gadgets with No Comments »

If you were hoping to somehow get your hands on that gun metal gray Metal Gear Solid 4 Playstation 3 bundle, here’s your chance. Konami has issued a press release showing that they exclusively will have a 40GB MGS4 PS3 bundle available for North American with the pre-sell starting on May 19th. This is not the same as the 80GB bundle we had talked about last month but a new offering available only from Konami.

The package comes with a Gun Metal Gray, 40GB Playstation 3, a matching wireless dualshock controller, Metal Gear Online, a Blu-ray disc with 2 hours of exclusive additional content and the Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Limited Edition game. The bundle is priced at $599.99 and will only go while supplies last so if you want one of these you’ll want to keep on top of this offer. In fact, you can add it to your Wish List on the Konami site now to keep up with the offer.

DVD + Video Game

It seems the radio just isn’t enough to satisfy today’s tech-savvy passengers. So while adding a mobile entertainment center is a solution offered on a lot of new vehicles, retrofitting one into an older ride can be kind of messy. Unless of course you manage to cram everything into a package that can easily replace the passenger side sun visor. Not only does this replacement visor include an actual DVD player with a 7-inch 16:9 display, but it also serves as a classic gaming machine with a built-in emulator. I’m not sure what classic games it can actually play (I’m assuming it runs MAME) but I know it does include a disc that’s already full of titles you just know will be amazing.

Wii knockoff sports 16-bit graphics

Saturday, May 10th, 2008 | Gaming Gadgets with No Comments »

All had been quiet on the Chinese front, so I knew we were about due for another Wii knockoff. I guess the Vii and the Vii2 weren’t cutting it for cheapasses who want to play games, so they upped the ante.

China Shenzhen Firstsing Company Limited, a company who brought us an unnecessary cooling fan for the Wii(And probably some other wacky stuff), now gives us a 7-in-1 gaming console. It looks alot like the Wii. You’ll get amazing 16-bit graphics technology, as well as sports games that are “similar to those on the Wii, but more cheaper,”. They even threw in a wireless gamepad, and 2 remote controls that look oddly familiar. Looks like they’ve also done away with the old fashioned CD and replaced it with a small but long cutting edge cartridge. You’ll also get the shown attachments, so you can spank yourself after buying it. Better yet, have someone else do it while you say “Thank you sir. May I have another.”

reNESED Concept Design

Thursday, May 8th, 2008 | Gaming Gadgets with No Comments »

Javier Segovia is a graphic designer working in Spain who occasionally turns his attention to concept designs for actual products. The reNESED is his take on the NES gaming console from yesteryear, and is hands down a big improvement over Nintendo’s original design. Of course it’s a bit easier to design shiny, curvy hardware these days thanks to 3D software and advanced manufacturing techniques (see the PS3) but the reNESED is still a nice piece of eye candy. Of course if I was redesigning the NES console I would have to incorporate some kind of automatic blowing mechanism to minimize the risk of me getting light-headed while playing. That, or actually fix the problem that caused games not to load correctly.
