
This Samsung LCD TV measures 82? from corner to corner which puts it in the category or “too big for most homes”. The TV has some impressive specs along with it’s huge size. The resolution of the TV is 3840 x 2160 which can display images at 120Hz (120 images per second). This provides viewers with Ultra Definition pictures. An interesting feature is the three colour backlight for this thing. By using red, green and blue lights in the back, it can increase true colour saturation to 150% with the NISC standard being 100%.

Some days I feel like I’m the only person in the world that doesn’t drink coffee. It seems to me that most coffee drinkers can be put into three categories. First, you have the people that drink it black; regular or decaf are really the only choices for them. To spice it up, add a little cream or sugar. Then you’ve got the Starbucks people. Those that don’t understand their strange lingo barely even know that they’re ordering coffee. Heck, I’m not even sure some of them even know what they’re ordering. Finally you have the people that must have the finest grounds from the most exotic places in the world. These people turn their noses up at anything but the finest. Don’t even think about offering them a cup of Folgers. This gadget is for those in the last category.

A lot of animators will keep a mirror next to their drawing desk so they can use their own faces and expressions as inspiration for their work. Well here’s a product designer who also used themselves for inspiration. But instead of looking at his face, Alexander Lervik wanted to delve deeper into his head so he had an MR scan of his brain done at the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm. The image of his brain was then processed by a rapid prototyping 3D printer to create this bizarre looking lamp. It’s lit internally by a set of bright LEDs and apparently does throw off quite a bit of light, but I think he missed the opportunity to have a single illuminated lightbulb floating above his brain. Now that’s a good idea!
