If you’ve got some dough to drop and are uber-fanatical about having that perfect audio tuning in your media room, Audyssey Labs has a product you might want to check out. It is called the Audyssey Sound Equalizer and you’ll find it pricing for around $5,000.

The Audyssey Sound Equalizer uses the company’s MultEQ XT room correction technology and a special PC application to “capture up to 32 points of acoustical information throughout a listening area. Based on these measurements, MultEQ Pro automatically calculates an equalization solution that corrects for time and frequency response problems in the listening area, creating a fully automated surround system setup.”

LG stylish new home theater systems

LG put out more detailed information today on some new home theater systems first shown off at CES earlier this year. These include, besides the LHT888, the new LHT874, LHT854, LFD850 and LFA840.

These systems are in the processing of appearing at retail locations such as Best Buy and Circuit City. LG describes them as featuring “distinctive designs” and “advanced technology. We detail the other items in this new line up after the jump.

If you have a mansion, then this is also for you.The Sooloos system works with a three product series which includes a source, store and control.The Store series is where you “store” your digital media. Three capacities of the store system are available which come in one, two or three terabytes. This allows you to store about 2000, 4000 or 6000 albums. If your music collection is larger then you can pair up the devices as needed.

Trade in Toshiba HD DVD boxes for Blu-ray players

Holy DVD. Looks like the HD-DVD camp could be throwing in their towels soon as the renowned Japanese electronics retailer Edion is allowing buyers to swap their Toshiba HD DVD boxes for brand new Blu-ray players (Sony, Panasonic). The swap begins in March 2008 and consumers only have to sum up the price difference. Looks like the press release below from Toshiba was translated from a Japan one

Asus Nova P22 to Compete With Mac Mini

Ever since Apple came out with the Mac Mini, PC manufacturers have been scrambling to come out with a “Mac Mini Clone” that will run Windows yet still have that “cool” factor that the Apple product has.Hot on the heels of their great success with the Eee PC, Asus has come out with the Nova P22 series of computers to compete with the Mac Mini. Like most Windows PCs that try to compete with the tiny Mac Mini, the Nova P22 is just a bit larger. It weighs just over four pounds (a pound heavier than the Mac) and when you lay the Nova flat it measures 2.1 inches tall (just a hair taller than the Mac), 9.8 inches wide and 7.25 inches deep, making its overall volume larger (compared with the Mac Mini’s 2×6×6 inch measurements).
