Hands Free Classic and funny

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008 | Mobile Phones with No Comments »

Most hands free kits you see these days come in sleek styling that will definitely enhance any work space in a professional manner. What happens if you’re the type who always like to go against conventional wisdom? The Classical Hands Free fits the bill perfectly - this retro-looking device allows you to chat with your friends as though you were talking on a home phone, although I don’t see where the hands free part comes in if it looks like a regular home phone receiver that I can hold up to my ear. Would be pretty awkward to see this lying on the table just like that though. Supported cell phone models include Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Samsung, Nokia and Panasonic. The Classical Hands Free will retail for $19.

Mobile Phone Styled like Calculator

I’m still not sure why anyone outside of an educational setting would need to buy a standalone calculator these days. And even if you’re still in school, the odds are you need one with advanced scientific functions, not just basic arithmetic. I’m particularly perplexed why someone would also want a basic calculator that’s styled after a mobile phone.

While I can’t deny that it looks slick, even the lowest end of real mobile phones have a calculator already built-in. And most carriers are practically giving those away these days. In its defense though, the slim design of this model does allow it to be used single-handled. And it includes a 12 or 24 hour clock on the LCD display, a contoured ABS plastic housing and even comes with a black felt pouch.

Cuusoo concept mobile phone

This cell phone concept seems to be imitating the Wii, as it’s all about attachments. Which makes for a very interesting device. Cuusoo has produced a concept that’s practical and well designed. Japan-based designer Marimo-san created the concept.

It’s a cell phone that would allow the user to remove the screen of the phone, allowing video phone calls on the go. Marimo-san has several versions of what various attachments might look like, including a widescreen PC-style to dual screen video viewer. It’s an idea that might speed up the convergence of the PC and the cell phone, so who knows, we may actually see this one in the marketplace.

The S-series

New phones have all the bells and whistles, but they leave a lot to be desired as far as design and feel. The S-series is just the opposite, combining sleek styling with quality materials in a compact package. Materials like bamboo and black acrylic with Brushed Aluminium Buttons. It makes owning and viewing the phone a joy. That much is obvious from the images alone.

The idea of this phone is to stand out and make a statement. And to do so without cutting out all of the features. All the key features are easily used without having to go out of your way and waste time.

Verizon Wireless seems to be on a warpath here, having recently released the BlackBerry Curve 8330 earlier this week, only to follow up that move by announcing the availability of the Moto Q9c on its online store as well as all Verizon Wireless business sales channels from today (May 9) onwards. For those who have been lusting after this smartphone, you can pick it up from any Verizon Wireless Communications Stores, including those in Circuit City, within the coming weeks as shipments start to arrive. This smartphone targets business professionals and boasts some pretty powerful capabilities, including access to over 14 million points of interest thanks to Verizon Wireless’ very own popular VZ Navigator service. Other specifications can be found after the jump.
