With the advent of tiny and extremely portable digital media players, not to mention the influx of mobile phones which can serve your audio and video needs, the moment you see this device, you’d have to ask……why another one? Does watching clip on your wristwatch really that much cooler than watching on a more conventional portable media player? Still, you have to admit, there are people who’d dig this device. I’m particularly fond of watches with a busy face, but the Astrodea collection from Citizen is kind of pushing the limits. The watch face has a 35° view of the heavens (as seen from the Northern Hemisphere) that rotates in real time and shows 1,109 stars and 169 cluster galaxies. It also includes other measurements like equinox indications, constellation markers, location of the sun, solar position, sunrise and sunset times and the daily duration of sunshine.

These futuristic watches by TokyoFlash sure look fantastic but if I didn’t know any better, I would have thought their mission statement is to seed confusion onto the human race. In spite of the claims that it’s quite easy to read time on TokyoFlash watches, I know it’s going to take me a while to get used to it.This one is called the Geomesh. It has brushed gunmetal finish with a grid face and 27 LEDs. You can choose between the multi-colored LED, All-blue LED and all-white LED version of the watch. The illuminated vertical LEDs indicate the hours white the horizontal ones indicate minutes in 5s or in 1s.

This stunningly good looking watch from Seiko Japan uses a series of spinning aluminum discs to display the time. And unlike many of the newer watches coming out of Japan these days, this one makes it very easy to read the time. Three numbered discs continuously rotate to display hours, minutes and seconds.
