Saturday, July 19th, 2008 | Mobile Phones with No Comments »

Am I the only one that’s a little disturbed by the concept of throwaway phones? You know, the junkie little phones that you find in your local gas station that come loaded with an hour or so of minutes. Well the concept is so popular that even BIC has hopped on the bandwagon.

Zen Krystal from Creative

Saturday, July 19th, 2008 | Audio/Video Gadgets with No Comments »

A few weeks ago, we covered Creative’s latest Portable Media Player (PMP), the Zen X-Fi. Believe it or not, Creative has already rolled out another PMP with the Zen Krystal.

The Zen Krystal looks like the Zen Stone Plus with Display (a PMP which I highly recommend), but has a more rectangular look. It appears to only be available with 4GB worth of memory, which is enough for about 2,000 songs. Songs and other audio files are easily downloaded with the drag and drop function with no drivers to install. Read the rest of this entry »

Muso voice control for your iPod

Thursday, July 17th, 2008 | iPod gadgets with No Comments »

If having all of that music at your fingertips isn’t enough for you and you want a still easier way to access your music, this might be just the thing. The Muso is a gadget that plugs into the iPod, and gives you voice control.

It will synchronize with your iTunes library on the first use, without any training. It understands requests like “Play some Beatles”, “Give me Rap”, or even “Play me something like the last song”. It costs $159, and the battery lasts for 10 hours, which is plenty of time for you to have talked yourself hoarse, much to the dismay of those around you.

Portable Digital Magnifier

Thursday, July 17th, 2008 | Miscellaneous Gadgets with 1 Comment

The Portable Digital Magnifier allows you to zoom in to many items and see them close up. Rather then working through a standard magnifying lens like the old method, this device mixes that with an LCD screen allowing you to take a close up spy of things on screen instead. As the name suggests, the device is portable and has varying zoom levels allowing you to see real close to objects. Images are displayed on a 2 inch screen. The beauty of this device is the ability to freeze frame while you observe an object.

Sony talks more about PlayStation family

Thursday, July 17th, 2008 | Electronic Gadgets, Gaming Gadgets with No Comments »

Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) has made a splash at E3 2008 by announcing a brand new PS3 80GB model that will oust the current 80GB model in the market. Since both have the same storage space, what are the differences between the two? For starters, the new PS3 80GB model will be the mainstay of the company’s gaming hardware line-up, and it will retail for a more affordable $399 that ought to see more sales fly off the shelves in due time. In addition to that, it will also have the entire range of features and functionality found in the 40GB model, albeit with double the storage for you to store a whole lot more movies, graphics, music, photos and other entertainment content without forking out an extra dollar. Other notable features include Blu-ray playback capability, HDMI output, integrated Wi-Fi connectivity, the vaunted Cell Broadband Engine and an integrated 80GB hard drive. In addition to this new 80GB model, Sony also has plans for its PSP handheld platform that is slowly but surely picking up in terms of sales and game quality worldwide. More about that right after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »

Toshiba Qosmio X305-Q701

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008 | Computer & Internet, Gaming Gadgets, PC Gadgets with No Comments »

Gaming notebooks are known for a few things—power, gaming performance and a high price. Your typical gaming notebook will often cost three times or more the amount that you can get a normal notebook for. Not all notebooks for gaming are hugely expensive though and Toshiba has introduced a new gaming machine that has a very reasonable price.
